CURRENTLY HIRING: BAKING ASSISTANT (PART TIME)

This is a part time position in a fast paced, scratch, neighborhood bakery.  Gingersnaps Bakery is looking for a reliable baking assistant with strong experience in baking to add to our team. This position would also require the baking assistant to be trained in customer service to provide additional support to front of house staff on an as needed basis. We are a small team and the ideal candidate must have a desire to work efficiently take on responsibility, be prompt,  self-motivated, a good team player, have a creative and open mind, have a positive attitude and enjoy working with our community!   

Responsibilities:

·      Precise scaling and mixing of ingredients and preparation of equipment for daily production

·      Use correct baking methods according to formulas to create and produce pastry

·      Finish product to prepare it for display or pick up for customer orders

·      Keep production on schedule and running smoothly to ensure our customers the best product

·      Continuously checking on the quantities of product in front of house and replenish when quantities are low

·      Assure quality of baked goods throughout their shift and properly setting up the next shift for success

·      Help to create and test new flavors for the store

·      Monitor inventory for all dry and refrigerated goods

·      Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines

·      Willing to learn how to use our POS system and customer service procedures to support front of house staff when needed

·      Report to work as scheduled and fulfill requirements for duration of shift

·      Ability to work weekends and extend hours during prime times of business around major holidays

·  Full understanding of the Gingersnaps mission and ability to serve as a brand ambassador, both internally and externally

Experience:

·      At least 1-2 years experience in a commercial bakery or culinary school preferred but not required

·      Food safety handler license preferred but not required

Physical Demands:

·      Requires ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 50 pounds, multiple times during a shift

·      Must have ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for entire shifts
